Leicester Driving Test Centres

There are two practical driving test centres in Leicester. The test centres are multipurpose and one test centre offers lorry test (LGV).

Driving tests from the Leicester Driving Test Centres involve difficult and hazardous roads within the test routes. Test routes are designed specifically by the examiners at the test centres to involve varied roads and traffic systems, often involving some of the most challenging within the area. An excellent and safe understanding of road traffic systems such as roundabouts, mini roundabouts, crossroads and junctions of various types is essential.

The test often involves narrow residential roads that can be difficult due to oncoming vehicles and width constraints. These roads often have parked cars – see the passing parked cars tutorial for help on this. High speed dual carriageways are often on the test routes and rural roads can also be taken. For novice drivers, rural roads can be challenging due to assessing the correct speed for the often harsh corners. The country road driving tutorial helps with understanding this.

The driving test will involve one of the four test manoeuvres to be chosen by the examiner and the emergency stop procedure that has a 1-in-3 possibility of being requested. Approximately 10 minutes of test time is designated to independent driving. Independent driving simply involves following a basic map displayed by the examiner before setting off, following road signs or a combination of both.

Test candidates taking their practical may benefit from booking a driving test around the quietest times of day. Peak traffic times (rush hour) often makes for a more stressful test. To book your practical driving test, see the available options below.

Book a driving test by phone
Practical driving tests in the UK are booked via the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). Driving tests can be booked by telephone or via the internet (see below). To book a test at any of the Leicester Driving Test Centres, see the book a driving test section for booking contact telephone numbers. This is an automated service, though a DVSA assistant can be reached by following the options provided.

Leicester DRIVING TEST CENTRE PASS RATES

Pass rates vary from each test centre, often due to the difficulty of the test routes. Some test candidates choose a test centre outside of their location due to the type roads that are taken on the test. The driving test pass rates section may show driving test pass rate statistics for your practical test centre.

Leicester TEST CENTRE TELEPHONE NUMBER

A member of staff can be contacted at your test centre to enquire on any general driving test questions you may have, for example if a test is still going ahead due to bad weather (See driving tests in bad weather for further information).

I had two tests at this centre. The first time was with Denny Flynn. I failed with my own silly mistake and the terrible thing is that Denny shouted at me during the test. I would give him zero star. The second time was with Bruce. What a brilliant examiner! I was so stressed during the test. He noticed that and tried to calm me down with his gentle guidance. I enjoyed the journey and passed the test. Give him 100 starts! Wish you guys good luck and meet Bruce in your test!

George is a mother ******* ******* he's failed me 3 times. He's at Cannock street, if you have him you are better of not taking the test.

I passed my test. My examiner was D.Flynn, he was an okay examiner, I had one problem with him I made a minor mistake and he started shouting at me. He treated me badly during the test. I don't recommend this this test centre to anyone, Its a waste of your time. I passed my test luckily but what if I failed. It wouldn't have been fair. Examiners cannot shout.

This test centre is just not worth your time and effort. My examiner was D Flynn and treated me very badly right from the start till the end of my test and interrupted me throughout my test. I have never heard any nice reviews about him and he made many students feel miserable. It's just not worth the time and efforts!! I do not give any ratings to this test centre.
