THE DRIVING TEST IN Speke

The driving test from Speke driving test centre begins almost immediately on a dual carriageway system with busy, multi-lane roundabouts. During the 40 minute test, the test routes will take you on varied roads and include quieter residential streets.

These areas are typically used for certain manoeuvres such as parallel parking and the emergency stop. The emergency stop isn’t conducted on every test – around one-in-three tests conduct this exercise.

The test will also involve busy test routes with higher traffic density, where you’ll be required to negotiate challenging  junctions, crossroads and busy roundabouts.

At the test centre (either at the start or the end of the test), the examiner may request one of the bay parking manoeuvre. This may involve either reverse bay parking, or forward parking into a bay.

My granddaughter took her test and as she was coming to a roundabout the examiner panicked and put her hands on the steering wheel ? My granddaughter said everything was fine but she failed her on ‘steering’ without going into any detail. Her instructor said the minor things she failed on she should not have been failed on,I’ve got no confidence at all in this test Center but my granddaughter wants to go again asap. Hopefully she doesn’t get the same examiner 🤞🤞

I took my exam 3/01/2022. Had about 40hrs with my instructor - well prepared for the exam.
Steve was my examiner (friendly but very strict), few of my friends failed with Steve. If you're well prepared Steve will do his best to show you that you aren't ready yet. The whole route went well, it was quite quiet (Bank Holiday). I was failed for an Appropriate speed - too slow. I never drive too slow as my instructor was saying if it's 30 go at least 29 or ideally 30 (if it's safe) ect. So yeah, first attempt and failed for an Appropriate speed. :/

Driving examiner was very rude to me, made snarky comments about me needing glasses, even though I read the number plate fine with them on.
So was very nervous before I even got into the car.
Sat there huffing and puffing when I didn’t do anything wrong.
Gave me minors for things I didn’t do and instructor agreed I’ve never done them whilst learning so finds it hard to believe I’d do that.
Took me on a road that was signed as one way so I treated it as one way. Then told me I blocked on coming traffic and I should have known the signs was placed wrong so gave me a serious.
Said I was going to slow on narrow 20mph road with parked cars at both sides, so I did what I was taught and took it slow to make sure I didn’t get to close to a car or have a car coming at me.
I was asked what I was waiting for when oncoming traffic had right of way and was heading towards me, obviously wasn’t safe for me to go.
I understand they are not there for chit chat or anything, but speaking to someone in such a degrading, disrespectful and unprofessional manner is unacceptable.
Went online to then find out they have one of the lowest pass rates in the uk, can’t say I’m surprised with the examiners they have.
Would never ever go back there and do not recommend anyone else to either
