Attended my test here yesterday.
Failed. Did not deserve it but hey, that’s the way it goes. You need luck. 35 minutes driving does not accurately reflect your ability.
My review is on behalf of another candidate who was in absolute hysterics when she returned. The examiner had spoken to her so terribly that she was heartbroken. I know of another person who had an awful experience with this same middle aged gentleman, he took control of the vehicle despite them having control, they only got four minors otherwise. If the DVSA actually come onto this page and read these reviews then they should seriously consider doing some rigorous reviews of the examiners they have employed here. I will be emailing them directly too. If you’re that young girl from yesterday reading this, I am sorry this happened to you. Your instructor seemed to have a lot of faith in you so please keep going. Use another test centre.
The elderly female examiner at this test centre is a nightmare. Does nothing to put candidates at ease, doesn’t chat, is an absolute jobsworth. Overreacts to every situation and does not use her discretion in any sense of the word. Speaks to the instructors as if she’s their senior too. I have sadly failed a few times at this centre (I am ready for my test, I struggle with nerves) and the only one I agree with is my first attempt. Many of the staff are senior citizens and quite possibly have impaired judgement.
I will be taking a break as Grantham Test Centre has given me PTSD when it comes to tests. When I get back on the horse so to speak, I’ll be avoiding this place at all costs. If you have other options, please, for the sake of your sanity, do not choose this test centre. Just to reassure others, Beth was let go because of her inadequate performance.
If I had the choice to give no stars then I would. I’m assuming from all of these other reviews I had Beth. From the start she was rude and made uncomfortable, she didn’t even have the decency to say hello or look at me. She sat there for the whole of my test biting her nails in MY CAR, so how she noticed the 10 minors she gave me is beyond me considering my previous test I got 2 and was told everything was perfect apart from one small thing which he said he unfortunately had to fail me for. She told me I failed and then just left and left the door wide open in the road, and the reason she failed me was because I was “too close” to parked cars, after she herself admitted there wasn’t enough room for my car to come through, as well as apparently not looking left at a single
junction, which if that was the case I’m surprised I made it back to the test centre alive. Absolutely ridiculous I’m sure she makes stuff up so she can fail people. The fact this woman still works here after all these awful awful reviews is beyond belief.
Very kind examiner who gave very clear and constructive criticism on my fail last week. Very understanding as to my disability needs as well. Only issue is the lack of disabled loo and parking although this isn't the fault of the examiners themselves if you do need the toilet remember to go before you get to the test centre! Thanks so much to the examiner I had though as I now know what to work on and how to be a safer driver.
I had examiner Liz. Great person makes me really comfortable and we had even some small talk. Even i forget switch on dipped headlights but she said me really nice to switch them on what course i did. Dont be nerves before your test peoples because they see it and then peoples starts make mistakes. I passed 4 minors
with only 7 hours of driving lessons
