THE DRIVING TEST IN Louth

Various road types will be taken during the driving test from Louth Driving Test Centre. Busy urban roads, rural country road driving (see the country road driving tutorial for advice on these road types) and high speed ‘A’ roads such as the A16.

The driving test will be assessing your ability at various roundabout types (often including a mixture of standard roundabouts and mini roundabouts), crossroads and junctions and will include one of the possible four test manoeuvres.

Driving tests used to involve two manoeuvres, now independent driving has taken the place of one of these manoeuvres. The emergency stop procedure may be requested as this procedure is asked for by the examiner for one in every three tests conducted.

Test centre routes may be available for Louth Driving Test Centre in the driving test routes section. The routes aid test candidates in gaining an understanding of the various roads and systems that the examiner will take you on during your test. Routes can be viewed on this website or downloaded as an app.
