THE DRIVING TEST IN Preston

Located on the outskirts of Preston, the driving test from Preston Driving Test Centre will feature various road types to assess your ability at driving. City and town driving is to include all road traffic systems including roundabouts, often multi lane and mini roundabouts. Junctions from large light controlled to small residential unmarked junctions.

Crossroads of varying types are also often taken. Residential streets often present a challenge to learners due to meeting oncoming vehicles whilst driving on narrow lanes. The passing parked cars tutorial offers advice on best practices here.

Residential streets are often used for test manoeuvre purposes where one of the possible four will be requested. The choice of manoeuvres is for the examiner to decide. Rural country roads (see country road driving) and high speed ‘A’ roads such as the A583 which feature dual carriageway sections is likely.

The driving test from Preston Driving Test Centre will last around 30 to 40 minutes. 10 minutes will be used for independent driving. Every other test conducted, the examiner requires the emergency stop procedure to be demonstrated.

Test centre routes are designed by the examiners who conduct practical tests at their local test centre. The routes are designed in such a way so to involve as many diverse roads and traffic systems as possible, often including very challenging parts. Gaining knowledge of the test routes provides valuable insight into the type of roads that will be taken during your test. Driving test routes may be available to view or a downloadable app for your mobile device in your area, including Preston Driving Test Centre.

Did not make any adaptations to my test, despite informing them of my disability on the booking form. Decided to bring an extra examiner into the test and I told them I have anxiety and said it would affect it, I was told if I didn't agree to this my test would be cancelled and not refunded. Extra pressure put on me,instead of having a fair test the odds were against me. Breach of Equality Act and don't want you to pass, just make money out of you.
