In-town driving will feature many road traffic systems such as roundabouts, junctions and crossroads. Featured are often residential areas, where the examiner often takes candidates for test manoeuvres, of which the examiner will choose one from the possible four.

These residential areas are often narrow lanes where examiner often assess your ability to deal with oncoming vehicles whilst passing parked cars. The driving test from Redditch Driving Test Centre will last approximately 30 to 40 minutes, and will involve around 10 minutes of independent driving and a 1-in-3 of the emergency stop procedure.

Test centre routes are designed by the examiners who conduct practical tests at their local test centre. The routes are designed in such a way so to involve as many diverse roads and traffic systems as possible, often including very challenging parts. Gaining knowledge of the test routes provides valuable insight into the type of roads that will be taken during your test. On my test I had a guy called Martin who is so abrupt and needs to learn how to talk to people instead of talking down to people. He talked to me like I was something on the bottom of his shoe.

The old lady is very cold, I mean I wasn’t hoping for coffee and a nice chat it’s a driving test after all but she legit cold and unwelcoming. I’ve booked another one and I’m coming out with a pass this time regardless

id like to make a formal complaint to the sour faced old hag of a tester that thinks its ok to fail people just because she feels like it that is gross miss conduct of your position when there are instructors telling there students it doesn't look good for you a test centre this is disgusting and i strongly recommend something is done

I have failed 4 times and had the same instructor for each test, he isn't very welcoming at all, is rude and abrupt. I tried to make conversation on a few occasions to break the ice and make myself feel comfortable and had nothing back but blunt replies. Redditch is a very hard place to do your test and the instructors don't seem to make things easy for you, I did think it was just me but others seem to agree too. I wouldn't recommend this test centre at all, especially for young adults as they make you feel so small and do really knock your confidence, for things that would be marked as minors at an easier test place.
