BMW 1 Series dashboard warning light continued. Page 3.

Flat Tyre Monitor DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

If this symbol illuminates in red and yellow, a tyre has deflated, or the flat tyre monitor has not initialised. If the symbol lights in yellow  the flat tyre monitor has failed and punctures will not be indicated. If you are experiencing problems, see tyre pressure warning light keeps coming on.


Transmission DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

The cog containing an exclamation mark on the BMW 1 Series illuminates in red red to signify the transmission limp-home has been activated with a limited number gears available. Acceleration may be reduced, journey can continue, moderate speed and get system checked immediately. Symbol lights up in yellow to signify the transmission emergency-run program with limited gear selection has activated. Journey can continue but get checked immediately, or the automatic selector lever locked in position P with engine running and brake depressed. Or brake signal malfunction.



TRANSMISSION Overheating DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

The cog containing an thermometer will illuminate in red to signify the transmission is overheating. Stop the car and place gear selector to P. Allow car to cool and resume journey. Symbol illuminates in yellow to signify transmission is too hot. Reduce speed and moderate speed. Journey can be continued.


Selector Lever DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

This light illuminates to inform the driver that the selector lever is not engaged in position P and as a result the vehicle is not prevented from rolling.


SELECTOR LEVER P DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

This light illuminates to inform the driver that the selector lever is not engaged in position P and as a result the ignition cannot be switched off.


SELECTOR LEVER Fault DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

This light illuminates when there is a malfunction with the selector lever. Repeat gearshift request if necessary. System will need to be checked if fault reoccurs.



Brake Signal FAULT DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

Brake signal malfunction – gear can be engaged without applying brake. Always apply the brake when engaging a gear when vehicle is stationary.


Window Pinch System DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

This symbol signifies the windows protection pinch system has malfunctioned on the BMW 1 Series. System will need to be checked by a BMW centre.


Glass Roof PINCH SYSTEM DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

This symbol signifies a fault where the glass roof pinch protection system has malfunctioned. System will need to be checked.

 


Cruise Control SYSTEM DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

This symbol signifies a fault where the cruise control system has malfunctioned. Journey can be continued though system should get checked soon.


Parking Distance COntrol DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

This symbol will illuminate if there is a fault with the parking distance control system.

 



High Beam Assist DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

This symbol will illuminate if high beam assist is inactive. Clean sensor for remedial action. It may also illuminate if high beam assist has a malfunction or the sensitivity to activate has been changed. where a BMW centre should be contacted.


Low Beam / Fog Light DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

This symbol will illuminate if one or both of the low beam headlights, or fog light bulbs have failed.

 


High BEAM Headlight DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

This symbol will illuminate if one or both of the high beam headlight bulbs have failed.

 


Engine Coolant Low DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT

If this light illuminates, it signifies that the engine coolant levels are low. Replenish coolant levels immediately as this can result in the engine overheating.
