ŠKODA Octavia Tyre Pressure Monitor Reset

If you have adjusted tyre pressures or changed one or more tyres on your ŠKODA Octavia, you may receive the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light on your dashboard – this may also be accompanied by an audible warning. You’ll be required to reset the tyre pressure monitoring system so that the light goes out.

How you reset the system varies depending on which generation your ŠKODA Octavia is and the year of manufacture. Detailed below is how to reset the tyre pressure monitor light for ŠKODA Octavia generation 2 (Mk 2 – 2004 to 2013) and generation 3 (Mk 3 – 2013 to current).

Reset Tyre Pressure Monitor ŠKODA Octavia Mk 2

This is how to reset the tyre pressure monitoring system for the ŠKODA Octavia 2nd generation.

  1. Inflate all of the tyres to the specified inflation pressure. Check inside the driver door (B-pillar) or inside the fuel filler cap for the correct pressures on the tyre pressure sticker.
  2. Switch the ignition to the ON position.
  3. Press and hold the Skoda Octavia SET button button for longer than 2 seconds.
  4. While pressing the button, the warning light Tyre pressure icon illuminates illuminates. During this time, the TPMS memory is erased and a new calibration is started. Calibration is confirmed with an audible sound and then warning light Tyre pressure icon illuminates goes out.
  5. If warning light Tyre pressure icon illuminates does not go out after resetting the tyre pressure monitoring system, this indicates a fault within the system. Seek help from a ŠKODA specialist garage.

Reset Tyre Pressure Monitor ŠKODA Octavia Mk 3

This is how to reset the tyre pressure monitoring system for the ŠKODA Octavia 3rd generation. The technique may alter slightly depending on the infotainment system version you have installed.

  1. Inflate all of the tyres to the specified inflation pressure. Check inside the driver door (B-pillar) or inside the fuel filler cap for the correct pressures on the tyre pressure sticker.
  2. Switch the ignition to the ON position, and ensure the infotainment system is on.
  3. On the infotainment screen, press the vehicle icon Skoda Octavia Vehicle Icon or the CAR button Skoda Octavia car button depending on the infotainment system version.
  4. Navigate to Setup Skoda Octavia setup icon.
  5. Navigate to Tyres Skoda Octavia tyres icon.
  6. Locate the tyre pressure monitoring system Skoda Octavia tyre pressure monitoring system reset icon reset and select it.
  7. The system will now reset and the new specified tyre pressures will be set.

ŠKODA Octavia Tyre Pressure Monitoring System

The ŠKODA Octavia uses ‘indirect’ tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and through the Anti-lock braking system (ABS), sensors compares the speed / rolling circumference of each wheel. If the rolling circumference is changed, a dashboard warning light Tyre pressure icon illuminates is illuminated along with an audible alarm.

  • The rolling circumference of the tyre can change and a warning light illuminated if:
  • the inflation pressure of a tyre is too low
  • the tyre is damaged
  • your vehicle is loaded unevenly to one side
  • the wheels of an axle are loaded heavily. For example when towing a trailer, or when driving up or down steep gradients
  • you have fitted snow chains
  • you have fitted the spare / temporary wheel
  • one of the wheels has been changed
