THE DRIVING TEST IN Barry

Driving tests from Barry Driving Test Centre last for around 35 to 40 minutes, will include 1 from the 4 possible driving test manoeuvres, approximately 20 minutes of independent driving and a possibility of the emergency stop (a emergency stop is requested 1 in every 4 tests conducted).

The Barry driving test routes will include town driving where the examiner will assess your ability at all major road systems including junctions, roundabouts and crossroads. The test is likely to take you out of Barry on high speed primary ‘A’ roads into rural areas and villages.

Small dual carriageway sections are located in Barry and also may feature on the driving test. Most town and cities are busier during morning from 8am to 10am and in the evening from 4pm to 6pm.

Booking a driving test in Barry within these hours will reduce the amount of traffic you will deal with during the driving test. It can also be worth checking for Saturday test availability if quieter.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Mark Davies, the examiner is getting away with murder at the test centre. Numerous complaints have been submitted as he is quite clearly the most obnoxious, horrible, creepy man.

When I arrived at the test centre, myself, my driving instructor and Mark Davies were the only 3 bodies in the building. I had to use the loo, the only toilet available at the time was the disabled toilet, so I used that. Midway through, I was interrupted by someone trying to get in, I finished, left the toilet and he was next to the door after seeing me go inside a little earlier. Mark Davies DIDN'T take me on an official Barry test route which I had practiced with my driving instructor, I also only drove for 25 minutes on my test.

At the end of the test, after failing me and me being visibly upset, MARK DAVIES of Barry Test Centre said "That's a lovely dress, I love it when it's summer and all the girls wear their dresses" which wasn't the first time he made me feel extremely uncomfortable with comments.

I have never met such an odd person, I would even go as far as saying extremely strange. The DVSA need to suspend him immediately as my money has been thrown down the drain due to his extreme lack of knowledge, judgement and professionalism.

Had my first test today. Mark Davies is an absolutely shocking test instructor. When i was first asked to drive off, Mark opened the glovebox and proceeded to look through it as i was driving, baring in mind my instructors wallet was in there. Throughout the test, he was touching things in the car, scratching the door with his nails, huffing and puffing, sighing, humming etc. Whenever I'd pull out of a junction after performing all checks, he would swing his head around looking for cars as if I'd 'missed' them... literally bending his neck backwards! When i mentioned how busy the roads were, he said to me "that's why you should not book a test at this time of day". I failed the test which was of course fault of my own, but I believe i would've passed if he wasn't purposely trying to make me feel so uncomfortable. I've heard bad things about him before but took with a pinch of salt... but he really is as bad as made out to be. I'm in the process of writing a complaint. Terrible experience. Sort it out DVSA!!!

Also forgot to mention, 6 minutes of dashcam footage was missing!!
