THE DRIVING TEST IN Durham

Durham Driving Test Centre is situated around rural roads where bends may be difficult to navigate due to oncoming vehicles. Although rural roads are usually quiet, they in fact represent some of the most dangerous road types. Read the country road driving tutorial for further guidance on these types of roads.

Small village roads may have narrow and difficult areas which is a common area to fail driving test. High speed ‘A’ roads are also present. Busy town driving in the city of Durham will assess your ability at traffic systems such as roundabouts, junctions and crossroads.

By browsing the Durham driving test routes section, you will gain a good understanding on the various road types and traffic systems that the examiner will take you on.

Durham TEST CENTRE TELEPHONE NUMBER

You can call a practical driving test centre to inform them that you may be late. An examiner will typically wait for around 5 minutes for you to arrive before cancelling the test. Or the test centre manager can be contacted to see if a test is still going ahead, usually due to bad weather.  See driving tests in bad weather for further information.

Test centres cannot be contacted directly to book or amend tests however, and this must be done via the DVSA (as above). Durham Driving Test Centre may be listed in the driving test centre contact numbers section.

I have chosen to stay anonwith this as I don’t want the examiner to be biased against my daughter. against my daughter. The test centre insists that in order to cancel a test you must give at least 3 days notice, however, they contacted my daughter less than 24 hrs before her test to inform her that her test would not be going ahead due to corona virus, no apology either, the person was very abrupt. If this is the case then why are tests being carried out on Monday, surely they should shut down completely if it is due to COVID-19. This is absolutely disgraceful and I will be contacting the press about it. Youngsters have put so much hard work in to get to a standard and these work shy examiners have seen this as an opportunity to take a little time off.

My examiner was a nice, yet I feel a little cheated, as I was told to pull up on the left Infront of a silver car yet explained I can't as id be blocking and entrance and there's a deep drain. The examiner repeated for the purpose of the test discount the entrance and pull up on the left Infront of the silver car. So I did and she marked me down for obstructing an entrance and steering into a drain which come under "control" in the test sheet. I am now wondering if trick questions forms part of the test

My driving inspector was a prick and was so arsey with my on my test. If I get him the next time I am defiantly going to refuse to do my test. He made me feel so venerable and like I was nothing. In my opinion he shouldn't be a driving examiner.
