THE DRIVING TEST IN Maidstone

Maidstone Driving Test Centre is situated around busy urban roads where the test will involve various types of roundabouts (including mini roundabouts), crossroads and junctions. Excellent knowledge of all traffic systems is essential.

Residential streets often used for test manoeuvres during the test are also used to test your ability at meeting approaching traffic whilst on narrow lanes and streets. During the test, the examiner will be requesting one manoeuvre with the emergency stop procedure having a 1-in-3 possibility. Approximately 10 minutes is set aside for independent driving.

Other than town driving, test routes often incorporate high speed single and dual carriageways, and if close enough to the test centre, rural roads. These type of roads represent a unique challenge due to their often high speeds and harsh corners.

The country road driving tutorial helps to explain how to use a safe and appropriate speed. Test routes are available for many of the UK practical driving test centres and may include Maidstone driving test routes. The routes aid test candidates in gaining an understanding of the various roads and systems that the examiner will take you on during your test. Routes can be viewed on this website or downloaded as an app.

Maidstone DRIVING TEST CENTRE PASS RATES

Throughout the UK practical driving test centres, pass rates vary. Certain centres, often in very busy areas may have a slightly lower pass rate and in this situation, some test candidates decide to take their test at an alternative test centre. The driving test pass rates section may show driving test pass rate statistics for your practical test centre.

Very annoyed and frustrated at the attitude of the examiner this morning, very rude and abrupt, my son made some minor mistakes and was told as the end of his test he had failed because he didnt look around enough during his parallel park, he looked around at every blind spot and all mirrors, what did the examiner expect, for him to get out of the car and check the boot, very frustrating feels very much like he had made his decision the night before who he was going to pass and fail

Just had my driving test with Iain. An amazing individual and was very considerate of my needs. Thank you for a very positive test experience!!!

This test centre has always been friendlier than the other one I had visited, and I finally passed with Lucy, who was an absolute angel, with two minors. Really recommend this place for far nicer examiners and just a higher standard of understanding and professionalism. Better atmosphere by far. 🙂

I had an older woman examiner. I get that it's not their job to make you feel comfortable but my god. This woman made me feel like I had committed the worst crime ever. Do you understand how nerve wracking AND expensive these tests are? I can drive, all my lessons and practice in my own car go perfectly, but these examiners are out to scare you enough that you fail. I get this is your 9-5 job but a little compassion towards your customers would go a long way. It's a big day for those taking their test, please don't treat it like the biggest inconvenience to you.

Absolutely beyond shocked. My son came from for his test today and did his test with minimal faults, but yet he still failed because he was driving slowly. I was in the backseat of the car the entire drive and saw my son's speed. He drove safely and did speeds that made sure he adhered to the rules and made sure he didn't scare horses or halt oncoming traffic. I think its a fix for getting their quota in. Beyond shocked and will be appealing this decision.
