THE DRIVING TEST IN Monmouth

Monmouth Driving Test Centre is situated around rural roads where bends may be difficult to navigate due to oncoming vehicles. The often higher speeds of rural roads combined with sharp corners can make country roads a challenge to novice drivers. The country road driving tutorial helps novice drivers in understanding appropriate speeds.

Small village roads may have narrow and difficult areas which is a common area to fail driving test. Fast ‘A’ roads are also present such as the A40 dual carriageway and are likely on the driving test.

The examiner will require one manoeuvre and the emergency stop having around a 1-in-3 possibility of being requested. Test routes are available for many of the UK practical driving test centres and may include Monmouth driving test routes.

The routes aid test candidates in gaining an understanding of the various roads and systems that the examiner will take you on during your test. Test routes can be viewed and planned on this website or downloaded as an app for use on mobile devices or a sat nav.

How is this Examiner Jane ever allowed to carry on in her profession. yesterday my Granddaughter took her test. Not only was she rude, demoralising but so unprofessional. My Granddaughter had had a head cold the previous week, and still had a bit of a sniff. Yes she took a Covid test to ensure that she was fine. Jane bore the same question several times did my Granddaughter have Covid. (did she really believe that she would have gone if she had?). Jane, then proceeded to huff and puff, took out wipes and cleaned herself and the seat belt etc. My Granddaughter was then too scared to sniff and was put at ill ease, Then the satnav decided to pack up and Jane was forced to open her mouth and give verbal instruction. at a roundabout my Granddaughter was instructed to to take a turning off which she proceeded with the maneouver only to have the steering wheel yanked round to get the car to proceed down another road. when asked by my Granddaughter why she replied because she was too close to another vehicle of which my Granddaughter absolutely denies but has to accept that is Jane decision. Jane then demanded that she was to return to the testing centre, told her she had failed, got out, didnt acknowledge her and walked off in haste.
It isnt the fact that she failed but Jane is obviously not suitable for the job in hand. has a wrong approach totally totally rude, demoralising to the extent I am sure she just likes her "power". I have reported her unacceptable manner. Words cannot express how I feel about this Examiner, I know there is a shortage in Monmouth, but come on, this woman is a liability.
Why dont they see all the reviews and do something about her. God help anyone who has the misfortune of crossing her path.

Awful experience with Jane. I complained about her a year ago and shocked she’s been allowed to continue with taking people on driving tests. She abuses her position of ‘power’, when complained we received a weak, corporate response and clearly they have not dealt with the issue. Absolutely terrible experience, would never recommend this driving centre.

Awful experience with Jane. She very clearly hates her job and resents testing anyone. She is incredibly rude and bad tempered and is severely lacking in any customer service. I am shocked she has not been disciplined or removed from her position already. I have lodged a complaint with the DVSA regarding her poor behaviour. I really hope you don't get her as your examiner on the day.
