BOOK A THEORY TEST AT Worcester THEORY TEST CENTRE

To make a theory test booking by telephone or via the internet, you’ll just need your provisional driving licence as a few details are required from this. You can book the theory test via one of the two methods detailed below. The Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) are responsible for managing all theory test bookings and Pearson Professional conduct the theory tests. Whilst making a booking, be sure to mention if you have any reading or hearing difficulties as help is available during the test.

Book a theory test by telephone
An automated telephone booking line for theory tests is available. A DVSA member of staff can be reached if you have any questions regarding the booking. Theory test bookings can be made in Worcester by visiting the book a driving theory test section.

Book a theory test online
An often preferred method of booking theory tests is via the internet. Online bookings allow for the candidate to see all the available free slot times and dates that may be taken and booked up. To book your theory test in Worcester, see the book a driving theory test section for all DVSA theory test booking information.

ATTENDING THE THEORY TEST

To aid in avoiding any issues on your arrival to Worcester Theory Test Centre, bring along a printout of the confirmation e-mail you received from the DVSA. On arrival at the test centre, ensure you take along your plastic photocard licence, the paper counterpart is no longer required. If you still retain the old style driving licence, this along with a suitable form of identification such as a valid passport must be taken.

If you do not have a passport, you must apply for a new-style driving licence and take this with you. Unless such items are taken, Worcester Theory Test Centre will be unable to conduct the test and you will lose your theory test booking fee. If you have misplaced your licence, contact the DVLA who will send you a replacement. See the learning to drive section for information on obtaining a new licence. Late arrivals to Worcester Theory Test Centre who miss the allotted time slot will be unable to sit the theory test and will also lose the booking test fee.

RESCHEDULING OR CANCELLING THE THEORY TEST

If you are unable to attend your theory test on the pre-booked slot, you are entitled to reschedule the theory test for an alternative date and time, or cancel the test to receive a full refund. Please allow for a minimum of three working days notice (including Saturdays) for either of these to be possible.

AFTER YOU HAVE BOOKED YOUR TEST

The DVSA will e-mail you confirmation of your theory test date, time and reference number after completion of booking. Check your junk mail in case you didn’t receive it. This e-mail will confirm the theory test date appointment and provide you with a reference number. Although not essential to take to the theory test centre, it’s advisable to print this e-mail to show to the centre staff if any problems arise.

“I found the test centre difficult to navigate to, I rang up the help line however they were little help as they were from Manchester. When I arrived there ,to say I was nervous was an understatement, I was greeted by a polite person at the main desk. He said I had just made it in time, the woman invigilating the exam (Name Removed) was extremely short and rude with me. I have taught kids who are better mannered than her, due to this attitude I have filed an official complaint with the correct people! I personally think that the staff attitude towards learners in this centre is really not acceptable!”

“My test was booked for today at 12.30. I planned to catch the 11.34 from Great Malvern. Before I left I checked that train was running; however when I arrived at the station it was cancelled. The next train was the 12.10. I caught that train, but unfortunately it was delayed with the result that I arrived at Worcester Foregate Street at 12.37. I ran all the way to the test centre and was very out of breath and upset when I arrived. I was told off for being late. When I explained I was told there had been no other complaints about trains. I took this to mean they didn't believe me, especially as they said if I had to take the test again not to be late again. I was very upset and flustered and no-one suggested I should sit and compose myself before taking the test. I was coughing a lot from running in cold air throughout the test and no-one offered me water. I was made to feel I was causing trouble. I passed the theory part of the test but failed the hazard perception aspect by one mark. I am sure this is because I was so upset. It would have made so much difference to me, and caused the staff no inconvenience, to have been kinder to me. There has obviously been torrential rain today and high winds yesterday. If the staff were interested in checking they will have found the train disruption I have described. There was no need to make me feel so bad.”

“Woe betide anyone who is a little late arriving after the 15 mins before time!! The staff are extremely rude and aggressive and obviously do not understand the meaning of customer service or have had training in people skills or on how to put nervous teens at ease. Would never use this centre again.”

“My son came for his theory test today. Despite leaving in very good time , he arrived at the test centre at his appointment time ( not 15 mins early) Traffic and accident caused delays) The lady at the worcester centre was very rude and said that he couldn’t use the headphones as he was late! My son explained that he is dyslexic and needed the headphones, he was told that it was not possible and it was his fault for being late!! He scored nearly full marks on the hazard perception part of the test, however failed by one point in the other. This is undoubtedly due to not having the earphones to use to read the questions to him. I am so angry and he is so upset!!! This is discrimination against a disability... I have tried every phone number possible to try and ring and speak to someone but can not get through. If any one has a number please can you let me know . Disgusting service for a young learner driver who is nervous and has a specific difficulty”
