Darlington Driving Test Centre

There are two practical test centres in Darlington. A test centre that provides multipurpose tests and a LGV test centre. Situated on the edge of Darlington, Darlington multipurpose Driving Test Centre will cover a wide variety of road conditions.

The testing examiner ‘will require a good knowledge of junctions, roundabouts from large multi-lane to residential mini roundabouts, crossroads and possibly one-way-systems. High speed ‘A roads to include the A66 dual carriageway are likely as are rural roads. These type of road conditions fail a large degree of driving test so require a good amount of practice. See the country road driving tutorial for further advice.

At least one driving test manoeuvre will be required by the examiner. Around a 1 in 3 chance of the emergency stop procedure. All practical driving test now include approximately 20 minutes of independent driving. The independent driving guide explains this in detail.

Good tips for the driving test at Darlington is to check if the test centre provides weekend Saturday driving tests. Traffic is often reduced over the weekends making the test easier. It’s also worth checking the driving test availability times between 10am and 3pm. Booking the driving test within this time periods will miss out on any rush hour.

By browsing the Darlington driving test routes section, you will gain a good understanding on the various road types and traffic systems that the examiner will take you on.

Failed. Examiner was rude and lied about three things that happened on my test. Horrible old man who needs to retire. He set me on edge the minute I got in the car. Rebooked at other test centre.
