Expected on the driving test from Melton Mowbray Driving Test Centre are a variety of roads to include rural country driving (see the country road driving tutorial for advice on these road types), busy high speed ‘A’ roads such as the A606 and A607 which may involve certain sections of dual carriageway and urban town roads.

Urban roads will test your ability for roundabouts, crossroads and junctions and may of these roads will include narrow residential streets where you will be assessed at meeting oncoming vehicles. These streets often are narrow and involve passing parked cars.

One test manoeuvre is to be expected along with the emergency stop having a 1-in-3 possibility of being requested. All practical driving tests now include the independent part which takes around 10 minutes. Independent driving involves following basic diagram maps shown by the examiner before setting off, following road signs or a combination of both.

Test routes are available for many of the UK practical driving test centres and may include Melton Mowbray driving test routes. The routes aid test candidates in gaining an understanding of the various roads and systems that the examiner will take you on during your test. Routes can be viewed on this website or downloaded as an app.

Absolutely brilliant and efficient. My examiner was very friendly and made me feel at ease. Also very informative with explaining my faults. The staff in the office were also lovely who greeted me on arrival. Even with the faults i occured i manage to pass. I have previously taken my test a few times before at colwick nottingham and the atmosphere is horrible there and the staff arent very friendly. Super happy 😄😊

Shocking... my examiner is clearly either rubbish at her job or was told to look for Amy reason possible to fail me... next time if Jemma is my instructor I will demand a refund or a different examiner and walk out... waste of money if they're all like her then I'd go to a diffent test centre.

Examiners in Melton test centre did not try to keep me cool. One of them just stopped the test in the middle and walked away as was not happy with my driving. They could have rather asked me drive back to test centre safe rather than leaving me alone with the car. I felt it rude and cried being left alone in an unknown place. Thanks to Google maps I sent a screenshot to my driving instructor to reach and pick me.
