Located within busy urban roads, the driving test from Rochdale Driving Test Centre will involve a varied assortment of roads. Expect rural country driving (see the country road driving tutorial) and high speed ‘A’ roads to be part of the test routes.

Town driving will be assessing your ability at multiple traffic systems such as roundabouts, junctions and crossroads, all of various types and sizes. Residential areas are often used for a test manoeuvre purposes as well as testing your ability for meeting oncoming vehicles within narrow lanes and passing parked car distances.

The passing parked cars tutorial explains how best to do this. One manoeuvre will be expected during test (the choice is for the examiner to decide) with a high chance of the emergency stop procedure. Around 10 minutes of independent driving will also be requested.

Test centre routes are designed by the examiners who conduct practical tests at their local test centre. The routes are designed in such a way so to involve as many diverse roads and traffic systems as possible, often including very challenging parts. Gaining knowledge of the test routes provides valuable insight into the type of roads that will be taken during your test. Driving test routes may be available to view or a downloadable app for your mobile device in your area, including Rochdale Driving Test Centre.

Driving tests can be booked to take place from Monday to Friday throughout the day. Many test candidates benefit by booking their driving test so that it takes place during the quieter parts of the day missing out on morning and afternoon rush hour.

Hi Everyone 🙂 I had an awful examiner but I do not remember her name. She was old, slim to medium weight. She was awful, horrible, and made you feel like shit. Does anyone know her name? BTW, I have passed now, so she can kiss my arse.  🙂

Keep going, you will get there and pass. Good luck to everyone 🙂

I also had examiner Emma, seeing in the previous review she was still newly qualified explains a lot. During my test today she slammed the brakes on for no reason at all! After asking why she did that she said “you almost hit the car” ( I didn’t and was not near)- I said I was never gonna hit it she replied keep driving forward and see how far you get. I drove forward and never hit it (hahahah)- Her attitude on the whole was horrific, please be aware of her😂- got a new test sorted for bury now! 😌
